It’s stifling hot outside, and it’s hard to think about intentionally ‘igniting’ anything! Most of us just want to lay down right now, and wait till the air cools down a little.
Everybody goes through seasons of pure mental exhaustion. We’ve just worked ourselves into the ground trying to make things work the way we want, the way we know in our hearts it could work, with some magic legislation or perfect customer that would make it all much easier. Even when we follow good advice sometimes, it may seem like nothing is working. Maybe there’s some kind of spiritual reason for this mess, right? Maybe this company is just not meant to be …
When those thoughts start to weigh you down, it’s time to fight for what you’ve been working so hard for. It’s like racing a long race. Good runners know they have to balance their energy so they can make it for the last leg of the race and win. That time is now. And not everyone will make it. Winners are the ones who are ALWAYS learning to improve their technique.
If you’re experiencing slow periods, don’t just worry about how to get those insta-customers.
While you should keep moving towards that every day, take moments like these to invest time in ‘growth planning.’ Write it down.
Planning will help you see the big picture as you ought to. Think big. Without vision, people perish. We’re instinctive with our imagination from the time we’re born, but the reality of daily life can include self-imposed boundaries that are probably holding us back in business, too.
What’s one thing you want to change or improve?
- If the answer was clearly laid out, would you take the steps you needed to?
- Is your growth decision hinging on getting your resistant team involved in a solution? Would they have to operate differently?
Do you say things like, “I would make those changes, but I can’t talk anyone else into doing that. They’d NEVER go for it.”
Imagine for a moment that all those restrictions to your vision were gone. What would that look like? Success is a very real, tangible situation, and you can have it when you make steps every day towards your vision. Share your vision with us in the comments section, and begin to get fired up about your future in business.
What can you do, or stop doing, TODAY?
