I don’t like it any more than you do, but we are busy. I can talk about why, I can talk about how not to be so busy, I can appeal to your sense of decency when it comes to being overly busy – but the bottom line is – you’re busy, and that’s just how it is.

Do you really even have a right to try?  [Read more…] about Engaging Customers in a Busy World, What You Need to Know

Website Design Isn’t Just About Appearance

June 18, 2012 by Susan Hamilton Leave a Comment

If you were on the design side of the conversations that go on when a website is being developed, you’d be amazed at the differences in opinions between different companies when it comes to designing a website. Can you have a website that’s pretty and functional, with easy searchability? Yup. But some things just don’t work together, and a good team knows what to avoid so a pretty website is a serious asset, too.  [Read more…] about Website Design Isn’t Just About Appearance

Does Your Blog Help Your Brand?

June 14, 2012 by Susan Hamilton Leave a Comment

Laptop with dollar signs coming out of the screen.Business blogging is a necessary part of marketing in 2012, now and in the foreseen future. Why? Because doing it right ‘keeps you in the loop.’ If sharing your content, commenting on blogs, and linking to your website are the accepted way to prove you have a relevant business, you can’t really develop new and loyal interest in your site unless you’re actively blogging.

Blogging doesn’t have to be text, it can be adding videos, audios or images, too. It does have to be good for the reputation you’re building around your brand.

Here are a few bad blogging situations you should avoid if you want to clearly position your brand as a recognizable leader in your arena.

Paint a Picture For Your Customer in 500 Words

June 11, 2012 by Susan Hamilton Leave a Comment

If a picture paints a thousand words …
imagery.Did you know that when you use images on your website, eyeballs stay on your pages three times longer than if you didn’t? It’s no secret that pictures incite interest, and using them helps you make your point. When you tell a story, you paint word pictures in a person’s mind, too. Those stories help your customer relate to you, and help them see that they can trust your judgement based on your experiences.

I understand how hard it is to figure out what your customers want to know. When I first started writing blog posts, the advice I heard was all about writing with authority and letting your customers know how much you knew about something they needed.
